Korean e-Government Expands to Bahrain
2015.07.20The Internet Registry Service Management System (ISMS) for the Supreme Court in Korea, which has been at the top of the UN E-Government Index for three consecutive years, has now been implemented in Bahrain.
LG CNS established the registration system for the Korean Supreme Court and, in 2012, constructed the first Korean-made registration system for e-government in the Middle East. The system, known as BLIS (Business Licensing Integrated System, www.business.gov.bh), was launched in May of 2015.
BLIS is an online commercial registration and business licensing system being implemented by the Bahraini government as a national strategy project to propel the ‘Economic Development Vision 2030’ campaign.
BLIS converts all commercial registration and business licensing processes to a paper-less format by integrating all government related organizations under one system. The system was designed to allow integrated agencies to share information. Through BLIS, over 20 government agencies will be able to share information and approximately 1800 registration and licensing processes will be available.
The introduction of BLIS to the extensive number of complex government agencies and processes will have a vast effect on the convenience and efficiency of administration.
