SEOUL, Oct. 14, 2026 ― LG Chem announced today that it will participate in TOKYO PACK 2026, Asia’s largest packaging industry trade show, taking place in Japan from Oct. 14―16.
At the event, LG Chem will present its next-generation sustainable packaging material technologies and strengthen engagement with global customers.
TOKYO PACK, Asia’s largest specialized packaging trade show, covers the entire industry value chain, from consumer packaging films and containers to processing equipment,
logistics and recycling solutions. This year’s event is expected to attract approximately 730 exhibitors and more than 70,000 visitors.
Under the theme “Innovation in Materials, Value In Everyday Life,” LG Chem will highlight the technological capabilities of UNIQABLE™, an ultra-thin packaging film with a world-leading
minimum thickness of 12 micrometers, as well as real-world applications developed in collaboration with customers.
UNIQABLE™ combines sustainability and high performance, maintaining physical properties comparable to conventional multilayer packaging films while using a single polyethylene (PE)
material to enhance recyclability. It is used in a range of packaging applications, including food, pet food and household products.
LG Chem’s exhibition booth is designed under the concept of “LG Chem Packaging House,” presenting packaging solutions used in consumers’ everyday lives across three themed spaces: Living, Kitchen, and Care.
At the booth, LG Chem will showcase examples of UNIQABLE™ packaging developed in collaboration with Crown Confectionery, a leading Korean confectionery company, and used for major snack and candy products. The examples will demonstrate LG Chem’s customer focused packaging solutions, from developing materials tailored to customer needs to commercializing products.
LG Chem will also operate a dedicated consultation zone at its booth to discuss customers’ technical needs and identify new material applications. Through these activities, the company aims to actively explore new business opportunities in Japan and other Asian markets.
“TOKYO PACK provides an opportunity to demonstrate how the commercialization of monomaterial packaging can translate into tangible customer value,” said Lee Choong-hoon, Vice President and Head of the NCC/PO Business Unit at LG Chem. He added, “Going forward, LG Chem will continue to lead market transformation as a partner that goes beyond supplying materials to support customers in their transition toward sustainable packaging solutions.”
