■ 70 million won voluntarily raised by labor and management was used  to provide cold-weather supplies to the underprivileged
 
■ Various year-end activities to help the neighbors such as donations to childcare facilities and blood donation campaigns
 
 
The labor and management at LG Chem and LG Energy Solution are spreading warmth at the year-end through a relay social contribution. The companies will provide cold-weather supplies to the underprivileged in order to help overcome the winter cold, and are holding a blood donation campaign at all workplaces to help overcome the current shortage of blood supply in the nation.
 
On the 23rd, the two companies announced that they had held a ceremony on the 22nd at the Korean Red Cross`s office in Jung-gu, Seoul, to deliver a donation of 70 million won which was collected through the ’Sharing 10,000 Won’ campaign.
 
‘Sharing 10,000 Won’ was a voluntary donation made by the employees of the two companies to help places in need, such as COVID-19 medical staff, small business owners, and victims of flooding, etc. The campaign is part of the ‘LG Green Chemical Project’, a joint social contribution activity between the labor and management.
 
The labor and management of LG Chem and LG Energy Solution decided to help neighbors in the local community who are having a difficult time through the cold winter due to COVID-19 and financial difficulties during the year-end. The socially vulnerable, such as the elderly living alone and children who are responsible for the living of their families, usually gathered at senior centers or cold-weather shelters to avoid the cold. But due to the recent social distancing caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, this has become difficult.
 
The Korean Red Cross plans to deliver essential cold-weather supplies to the socially vulnerable across the nation by the use of donated 70 million won from the two companies. The Korean Red Cross commented, “We thank the two companies for standing beside us to help the underprivileged who desperately need help in the year-end.”
 
LG Chem and LG Energy Solution are carrying out year-end social contribution activities such as relay blood donation and donations to childcare facilities. Since December 8, the labor and management are jointly holding a relay blood donation campaign where the executives and employees of 11 domestic workplaces can participate.
 
Independently of the ‘Sharing 10,000 Won’, 30 million collected by headquarter employees as part of the regular employee donation program ‘Twin Angel Fund’ was donated to three childcare facilities in Seoul on the 21st.
 
In addition, through the LG Green Chemical Project, the two companies are carrying out: ▲ ‘Green Energy Distribution’ campaign where solar power generation equipment are installed in village near major workplaces, and ▲ support for environment/local communities/the underprivileged, such as the ‘Dreamers Project” which supports children who are responsible for the living of their families.
 
Representatives from LG Chem stated “The labor and management both shared the common view that they should help the neighbors during the year-end and have voluntarily joined efforts to make this happen. We will continue to provide support for those in need in order to create a brighter future environment where local communities can sustain.”
