2020.08.03■ ‘LG Green Academy Project’ held jointly by labor and management
■ Pursuing activities such as distributing eco-friendly green energy and recycling waste resources
LG Chem labor and management teamed up to build a sustainable society.
Regarding this, LG Chem announced that it will be holding the joint labor-management social contribution activity called ‘LG Green Academy Project’ to create a sustainable society, on the 3rd.
First, LG Chem will install eco-friendly green energy facilities such as solar power in social welfare facilities near its five places of business in Yeosu, Ochang, Daesan, Iksan and Onsan from September as part of its activities for building a sustainable environment.
It will also begin waste resource recycling activities. Both labor and management at LG Chem plans to collect and recycle waste plastic to manufacture products, etc. and donate them to the local community. It is also scheduled to operate the Clean-Up Week to engage in community environment purification activities for all of its business places.
LG Chem labor and management also decided to implement the ‘matching grant’ program where the company will match the amount of donations made by employees in order to come up with costs for activities needed for this campaign.
CHO and Senior Vice President Kim Sung Min said, “Labor and management came to an agreement to concentrate on activities for building a better environment as part of the social contribution activities in accordance with the company’s sustainable growth strategies.” He also added, “Labor and management will work together to spread the awareness on the importance of environmental value in the community.”
Meanwhile, LG Chem labor and management conducted ‘Employee 10,000 KRW Sharing’, ‘Relay Blood Drive Campaign’, and ‘Purchasing Local Agricultural Products’ projects from earlier this year to overcome COVID-19. Starting with the Ochang plant on the 20th, the second Relay Blood Drive Campaign is being held for employees at 11 places of business including Yeosu, Daesan, and the Seoul HQ.
